Tom Oates is a London-based documentary photographer and filmmaker who works as a Documentary AP and Archive Producer in factual television.
​
His photography spans five continents - from protests outside Downing Street and midsummer celebrations in the Baltic States, to Mayan ball games and egg-and-spoon races in rural Tanzania.
The breadth is deliberate. He's less interested in any single subject than in the full, unruly texture of being alive: the moments of joy, grief and absurdity.
